Makayla Holthaus made it official by signing with Ottawa on Saturday. The daughter of Pima head coach Todd Holthaus, Makayla was an All-Southern Arizona selection in her senior year with Ironwood Ridge.

“Being her dad and being a basketball coach, I couldn’t be more proud of how she made her dreams a reality,” Holthaus said. “It wasn’t Jen and I pushing her to do it. It was her own drive on the court and in the classroom that made this possible. We couldn’t have asked for more.”

The Holthaus family was also joined by Ironwood Ridge football standout Ryan Drescher who signed with Simpson College.
