Arizona Wildcats Gain Commitment From Class of 2021 Five-Star Standout Aaronette Vonleh From Oregon

Aaronette Vonleh, a five-star prospect from West Linn (Ore.) High School has committed to coach Adia Barnes and the Arizona women’s basketball program.

Vonleh is a 6-foot-3 post player who was a first-team selection and player of the year last season for West Linn in the 6A Three Rivers Region in Oregon. She averaged 17.7 points per game, 8.5 rebounds and 2.2 blocks last season. She also shot 64 percent from the field.

She is the No. 38-ranked player in the nation for the Class of 2021 by ESPN, which rates her with five stars.

Vonleh has chosen Arizona over in-state school Oregon State, a perennial power in women’s college hoops. Many other top programs were showing interest. The commit to Arizona is early in the process with Vonleh not able to sign until November.

“Aaronette is a selfless player and always puts team success ahead of her individual accomplishments,” West Linn coach Brooke Cates told OregonLive.com. “She is a complete player on both ends of the court. She is a great defensive presence and is unstoppable in the paint.”

Vonleh participated in the trials of the 2019 USA Basketball Women’s U16 National Team at Colorado Springs, Colo. She is the youngest sister of Noah Vonleh, the ninth overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft by the Charlotte Hornets. He is now with the Denver Nuggets.

Aaronette Vonleh is the second Class of 2021 prospect to commit to Arizona.

Madison Conner, a sharpshooting guard who played her first three seasons at Perry High School in Gilbert, is the other commit. Conner will play for AZ Compass Prep in Chandler in 2020-21. ESPN rates Conner with four stars.
