Pima College Forward Sierra Mich’l Commits to NAU

Pima College sophomore forward Sierra Mich’l , who hails from Las Vegas, announced today via Twitter that she has committed to NAU and will play for the Lumberjcacks starting in 2021-22.

Mich’l stands at 6-foot-1 and started 26 games for the Aztecs last season.

She averaged 9.6 points and 6.6 rebounds a game for Todd Holthaus.

Mich’l will join former Pima guard J.J. Nakai with the Lumberjacks. Nakai transferred to NAU from Nevada after the season and will be a senior in 2021-22 after sitting out a year per transfer rules.

“Sierra is a difference maker on the defensive end,” Holthaus said. “She set the single-season block record last year with 72. She plays tenaciously and is a great teammate. Very happy for her and NAU.”

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Pima’s start of the season has been pushed back from November to January per the action plan released by the NJCAA on Monday.
