Class of 2021 offensive tackle Luke Eckardt of Richmond (Ill.) Richmond-Burton High School decommitted from Northern Illinois today and changed his pledge to Arizona.
Eckardt, recruited to Arizona by offensive line coach Kyle DeVan, is rated a 3-star prospect by 247Sports. He committed to Northern Illinois on April 3
Eckardt also had offers from Arkansas State, Bowling Green, Eastern Illinois, Eastern Michigan and North Dakota.
Listed at 6-foot-7 and 265 pounds, he was an all-conference player and won a 4A state championship last year at Richmond-Burton.
Eckardt is Arizona’s 16th commitment in the Class of 2021. He is the sixth offensive player to commit and the second in as many days, following the pledge by CDO running back Stevie Rocker yesterday.
