Ironwood Ridge Hoops Standout Benny Felix to Play for Pima

Benny Felix (6-5) was a senior standout who helped lead Ironwood Ridge to the playoffs last winter where the Nighthawks knocked off Flowing Wells in the play-in game before falling to state power Buena in the playoffs. The No. 13 ranking was the highest finish the Nighthawks experienced in his four years with the program.

When we last caught up with the small forward, Felix already had plans to attend Pima for his education regardless, but Aztec head coach Brian Peabody made his commitment a bit more sweeter, especially with the death of his father, Bill Felix, in 2019.

“Benny had a great career at Ironwood Ridge and it was fun to watch him grow and mature as a person and player,” Peabody said in a release. “He is a really good teammate and will be a nice addition to the locker room.”
