My evolution in football started playing in middle school, in the sixth grade, and I barely got any playing time. That made me want to work harder.

I then went to play with the Santa Cruz Cardinals here in Nogales for my seventh and eighth grade year. From there, I was able to get better and put more work in to myself to get ready for high school football.

In my freshman year, I had a good season overall and I can easily say my game improved. My sophomore year then came around and I was blessed to play varsity.

I got some reps at cornerback but played more with special teams. In my head, I told myself again that I need to work harder to show them I have it in me and I did.

My junior year then came around and I gave it my best. I was able to earn a starting cornerback spot and I had some reps at receiver. I was able to get first team all-conference defensive back honors. I had four picks with 44 tackles.

My evolution from sixth grade to now has been an amazing ride and I’m not gonna stop giving it my all!

My greatest hope for 2020-21 is for everything to go back to normal and living our normal lives. For football, I really hope we can make it in to the playoffs and win that state championship! I want to be able to prove all the haters wrong that Nogales football has what it takes to make it to the state championship!

I hope to have a great season as well and make more college coaches notice my teammates and me as well.

This year, I like everything about our team! I always have liked everything, but this year is special because we are going to come with everything we got! We all work as a family and we’re gonna be there for each other no matter what!

My future goal beyond school is to be able to make it to the pro leagues (NFL). I hope I get the chance to go to a good college/university and show the whole world what I’m made of! I want to make my family proud and become a better man!
