Level Up Softball wins 10U Tournament in Gilbert

The Tucson area Level Up Softball 10U team went 4-1 to capture their first tournament of the season this past weekend at McQueen Park in Gilbert.

The team set the tone in the first game on Saturday, Sept. 12 with a 13-2 run rule victory over the Yuma Diamonds. Aubrey connected on a home run, Darby hit two triples and Sadie added a double. It was a complete team victory with every player collecting a hit, run or an RBI. Kapri and Aubrey had two RBI each. Darby got the win with eight strikeouts.

Level Up started the second game off against Arizona Winning Edge (AZWE) on a positive note with two runs in the top of the first but the team from Gilbert responded with four runs in their half of the inning and then went on to take the game 8-3. Peyton picked up a triple in the loss, Mikaela went 2-2 and Sadie went 2-2 with two RBI. Addison collected five strikeouts from the circle.

AZ Force scored three runs in the top of the first inning during the last game on Saturday but Level Up scored two in the bottom half of the inning and then tied the game up with another run in the second before pulling away with a 7-3 win. Mikaela and Kapri had doubles, Sadie went 2-2, Kapri added two RBI and Payton went 1-1 with an RBI. Darby collected 10 strikeouts for the win.

Level Up took the first bracket game 15-3 over the Jr. Falcons in three innings. Kapri had a home run, Peyton, Gabby and Darby added doubles. Kapri went 2-2 with four RBI, Mikaela went 2-2 with two RBI, Sadie went 1-2 with three RBI and Gabby added two RBI. Gabby and Vanessa combined for four strikeouts.

Level Up brought everything in the final game with six runs in the first inning and 10 in the second inning to beat TH-Gephart 16-0. Sabella had a triple and Aubrey had a double. Sabella also went 2-2 with two RBI and Sadie went 2-3 with an RBI. Peyton, Kapri and Aubrey had two RBI each. Darby had six strikeouts in the win.
