Salpointe standout Jack Rogers (6-3, 210) announced his commitment to play for New Mexico State on Saturday. A first baseman and outfielder, Rogers had a remarkable off season where he caught the eye of the college scouts due to his size, hitting power and speed. He helped lead the Lancers to a 4-0 record last spring before the season was cut short.
Former Sahuarita standout Chris Barraza and Nogales standout Kevin Jimenez will be juniors for the Aggies this year. In addition, Sahuarita pitcher Ian Mejia transferred from Pima to New Mexico State. Sabino standouts Joey Parker and Jacob Wiltshire will be Aggies in 2021. Nogales junior standouts Demetrio Crisantes and Saul Soto have also committed to play for New Mexico State as did Canyon del Oro standout Marcus Delgado and Nogales senior Matthew Bachelier.
The Aggies compete in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) and former Nogales standout Keith Zuniga is an assistant coach.
