Buena Schedules Paradise Valley Friday to Replace Postponed Salpointe Game

Buena coach Joe Thomas posted on social media this morning that his team will play at Paradise Valley on Friday.

The Colts were originally scheduled to play at Salpointe but that game was moved back to Oct. 23 because one of the Lancers has tested positive for COVID-19.

It is the second straight week Buena has scheduled its opponent the week of the game on a Tuesday. Last week, the Colts reached out to San Tan Valley Combs to travel to play a game after Combs’ game with Cave Creek Cactus Shadows was postponed because a Cactus Shadows player was infected by COVID-19.

Buena beat Combs 33-20 in that game.

The Colts, a Class 5A team, now have five games scheduled in 2020. In addition to the game at Salpointe, Buena is scheduled to play at Casa Grande on Oct. 30 and host Cienega on Nov. 13.

A team needs four games scheduled to qualify for the state playoffs.
