When Arizona announced the commitment of Indiana transfer Bendu Yeaney, it was unclear whether she would be eligible to play right away for head coach Adia Barnes.
On Wednesday afternoon, the NCAA announced that it had granted Yeaney’s waiver to play for Arizona for the 2020-21 women’s basketball season.
The 5-foot-10 guard brings a lot to the table for Arizona, from defense to scoring, but, perhaps mostly rebounding. Yeaney averaged 4.3 rebounds a game during her time in Indiana.
Arizona finished near the bottom half in the Pac-12 in rebounds per game. The addition of a solid rebounder is a massive shot in the arm for coach Barnes and her team.
