High School Sports Preview Show Features Arizona Football Great Brandon Sanders

The AllSportsTucson.com crew featured former Arizona standout safety Brandon Sanders, a member of the famed Desert Swarm defense, as its guest of the weekly High School Sports Preview Show at Wings Over Broadway on Thursday night.

Sanders, who coached Pueblo High School to prominence over the previous six years, is now a defensive backs coach with the Tucson Sugar Skulls.

Sanders discussed the current state of high school football, the top local players in Southern Arizona, and the Wildcats’ outlook. He also looked back on his team as a player with Dick Tomey’s team and with the New York Giants.

Our high school sports coverage team of myself, my brother Andy and Troy Hutchison also discussed last week’s first slate of football games including local high schools. We also talked about tonight’s slate of games that include:

5A Buena (1-0) at 5A Paradise Valley (0-1), 7 p.m.

3A Pusch Ridge (1-0) at 3A Yuma Catholic (1-0), 7 p.m.
