Last season Salpointe was led by the nation’s top running back in Bijan Robinson, according to 24/7 Sports, which ranked Robinson as the top five-star back for the 2020 recruiting cycle.
The Lancers also had someone special with backup David Cordero, who rushed for 531 yards and nine touchdowns.
Fast forward to this season, Cordero now takes over the role as the starting back, and in his first game against Casa Grande he rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown.
Friday night, Salpointe is set to play against Buena in a matchup that features two well coached teams.
