Arizona soccer drops first game of the season

Coming into Friday night’s matchup with No.4 UCLA, Arizona had started the season 4-0 while outscoring opponents 13-1 during that stretch of games.

The winning streak came to an end as the Bruins achieved a narrow 2-1 victory over the Wildcats.

The Wildcats have dominated opponents on shot opportunities throughout the season. UCLA was able to flip the script outshooting Arizona 16-7, putting pressure on a young backline.

The single goal came from sophomore Madison Goerlinger in the seventeenth minute, scoring her first goal of the season.
