It has been less than 48 hours since Arizona hired its new head coach Tommy Lloyd, who held his introductory press conference on Thursday afternoon, but Lloyd is already making waves on the recruiting trail.
Lloyd, early Friday morning, landed his first recruit in 7-foot and 215 pounds center Dylan Anderson for the 2022 recruiting class. Anderson is from Gilbert out of Perry High School.
After careful consideration of the many offers I was honored to receive, I am excited to announce I will be taking my Game to the next level at the University of Arizona to play for Coach Tommy Lloyd. #BearDown @APlayersProgram pic.twitter.com/kWilNgdb6U

Anderson was originally recruited by former Arizona coach Sean Miller and decided to commit to the Wildcats once Lloyd was named head coach.
Anderson had offers from Gonzaga, Kansas, and Michigan among others.
Here’s a highlight video of Anderson during his sophomore season:
This is a story written about Anderson by our Javier Morales two years ago during the summer circuit:
Story I wrote during 2019 summer basketball (this did not occur last year because of COVID-19) about Class of 2022 7-footer Dylan Anderson @bucketsallday45. "Youngster with Big Man Skills Inside and Outside the Paint." Committed to Tommy Lloyd & UA today: https://t.co/Q3HxXDfXim
