Desert Thunder Campos 18U and Desert Thunder Basaldua 14U both advanced Sunday to the Premier Girls Fastpitch (PGF) national championships with qualifying wins in a regional tournament at Peoria.
Desert Thunder Campos 18U, which went 4-1 over the weekend, defeated the Arizona Suncats 18U to qualify. They will play July 23-31 at Huntington Beach, Calif., in the PGF national tournament.
Desert Thunder Basaldua 14U finished 3-1 capped by a 6-4 win over Bat Company 14G. They will play Aug. 1-8, also at Huntington Beach in the PGF national tournament.
