FC Tucson 02/03 GIrls Black defeated Rio Rapids (Colo.) Soccer Club 2-1 on Friday to advance to the semifinals of the Female 19U/20U U.S. Youth Soccer Far West Regionals at Boise, Idaho.
FC Tucson will face the Utah Soccer Alliance on Saturday at 8 a.m. The winner advances to the championship Sunday at 11:15 a.m.
Caitlyn Maher, who recently graduated from Catalina Foothills and will play at Pima College, scored her third goal of the tournament.
Pusch Ridge graduate Ellie Robinson, who is headed to New Mexico, scored the other goal against Rio Rapids. She has two goals in the tournament.
FC Tucson 02/03 Girls Black is coached by Pima men’s soccer coach David Cosgrove.
