Nogales (the District 8 champion) lost to Continental Ranch (the District 5 champ) to start the tournament and went on to win five straight elimination games for the title. It beat Continental Ranch 12-1 on Wednesday to force a deciding championship game.

Due to COVID-19 protocols, Little League did not schedule regional and national tournaments at the Intermediate 50/70 age group this summer. Nogales won the Intermediate 50/70 World Series in 2014.

J.P. Tapia contributed two hits and three RBIs and Xaciel Garcia had two hits and three runs for Nogales in Thursday’s victory.

Wyatt Meza had a double and triple and two RBIs to lead Continental Ranch.
