Ten football players from Southern Arizona are accompanying Rodney Cox, owner and scout of Gametime Recruiting and Consulting, to the football game between UTEP and New Mexico State at Las Cruces, N.M., on Saturday night.

Part of their itinerary is to visit the Aggies’ campus as part of an unofficial recruiting trip.

The Southern Arizona players are:

OL Emanuel Samaniego of Desert View

RB Devin Bowling of Benson

OL K.J. Ellsworth of Mica Mountain

DE/TE Jordan Pfeifer and LB Kohl Goerke of Sahuaro

OL Trevor Rudolph of Buena

RB/CB Ethan Krominga of CDO

LB/RB Lloyd Johnson III and C/DT Pablo Peña of Mountain View

Florence QB Jett Scott is also making the trip.

Cox, a former standout receiver at ASU, has been involved in the recruiting and consulting business for young aspiring athletes in the last five years. His clients this school year include approximately 40 athletes from Southern Arizona in a wide variety of sports in all classifications in the state.

He coordinates recruiting for players who go on to various levels including junior college, NAIA, and NCAA Divisions I, II and III. To learn more about his operation, visit the Gametime Web site.

Here is my interview with Cox after Friday night’s game between Pusch Ridge and Benson in which three players competed of whom he assists in their recruiting efforts — athlete Bryce Jewell of Pusch Ridge and Bowling and athlete Angel Rigney of Benson.
