Southern Arizona talent starting for Division I schools in openers

Lathan Ransom, Bijan Robinson, Rhett Rodriguez and Jordan Morgan are recent Southern Arizona high school graduates who will start for their respective Division I team this weekend.

Ransom and Robinson of Salpointe will start for Ohio State and Texas, respectively. Ransom, a safety, will line up against Minnesota today (5 p.m. Tucson time, FOX) and Robinson will play against visiting Louisiana.

Rodriguez, a Catalina Foothills graduate who transferred from Arizona to Lousiana-Monroe after last season to reunite with his dad RIch Rodriguez, will start at Kentucky on Saturday. Rich Rodriguez is the associate head coach and offensive coordinator of Louisiana-Monroe.

Arizona released its depth chart today ahead of Saturday’s opener against BYU at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium and Morgan, a Marana grad, is slated to be the starter at left tackle. Kickoff between the Wildcats and Cougars is at 7:30 p.m. and the game will be televised on ESPN.
