Salpointe senior midfielder Trinity Morales, who helped lead the Lancers to their second consecutive 4A state championship, is the Jet Sports Training Female Athlete of the Month for February.
Morales made one of the penalty kicks in Salpointe’s victory over Notre Dame Prep in the 4A state championship match Feb. 23. The match was tied at 4 through the two overtime periods and two Golden Goal portions before the Lancers won 4-3 in penalty kicks.
Morales was selected by 4A Kino coaches as an all-region first-team selection and she was chosen the region player of the year.
She has experience playing for the FC Tucson women’s team last summer under coach Kelly Pierce, who is also Salpointe’s head coach.
