SAM’S CORNER: Fun moment with Dominique McBryde while preparing for March Madness

Hey Wildcat fans,

March Madness is finally here, the month we have all been waiting for.

Everyone plays their hardest this time of the year and upsets happen left and right. Not only is it fun playing during March, but it is also fun watching and it keeps you busy. With conference and NCAA tournaments happening between men and women, there are games on nonstop throughout the day.

We fell short in the conference tournament and now we have one more shot with the NCAA tournament. We are waiting for Selection Sunday to not only find out who we play but also if we are hosting or not. Since we do not play for another two weeks, we were able to take some time off to rest and recover. With our time off, I ran a bunch of errands and of course watched college basketball. I took Proxy to get a bath and did a little early spring cleaning.

Close to graduating, I realize how much Arizona gear I will have. I am going to be wearing AZ gear for the rest of my life. I can’t believe I am going to be an alumni soon.

As many of you know, Dominique McBryde, former Arizona Wildcat and still current friend, is currently in Luxembourg and her mom came out to visit her. Every year in the summer, she and her mom would take a little mini vacation to an amusement park called “Kings Island” in Ohio. My grandparents happen to live in Cincinnati, Ohio, and the past two summers I went out there to visit them.

I was able to meet up with Dominique and her mom and go to Kings Island with them. Since it was their family vacation, of course Dominique’s mom wanted a group picture. Right when you walk in the amusement park, there is a long river with a fake Eiffel Tower at the end. Each year, we took a picture in front of the river and for years before she and her mom would take the same picture. Well now, her mom is in Europe visiting Dominique and they made a pit stop at the real Eiffel Tower and took a picture in front of it. It was such a funny moment when I saw them in front of the real Eiffel tower and we all laughed about it.
