SAM’S CORNER: Excited about Sam’s Club NIL deal, playing sister at McKale during March Madness

Hello Wildcat fans!

Lots of exciting things that happened this week! To start it off, it was Spring Break , so no classes which means no homework. Got to take the week off. There were also a lot of students gone so parking was less crowded.

I also got to finally announce my Sam’s Club NIL (name, image and likeness) deal. They started the competition back in September, and I found out around the end of October but with all the paperwork that needed to be filled and they had to make sure all 10 of us Sam’s were good to go before we could release anything. I really owe that deal to the community for tagging me in the post.

I remember it was an off day so I slept in til about 11 and I woke up with a bunch of notifications on twitter showing me the post. I have always been a Sam’s club member. My family and I used to live in a small town called Macomb, Ill. There was only one grocery store and one school that everyone went to. About once a month, my mom would take all of us kids to Sam’s Club to buy a bunch of food to stock up on. The closest Sam’s Club was in Quincy, Ill., about an hour and 15 minutes from where we lived. It was almost like a little road trip because we were so young and loved going for the free samples. Fast forward to now, I am helping represent Sam’s Club!

Even more exciting news: We are hosting the first two rounds of the tournament! What I thought was my last time playing in McKale on Senior Night, turns out I potentially get two more games. Not only are we hosting, but we play UNLV where my little sister happens to play. My family is so excited and can’t wait to see us play against each other. Jade (my sister) is actually the only person in my family who hasn’t seen me play in McKale and now her first time will be playing against me! So I hope everyone gives her a warm welcome and shows her how loud McKale can get. First game is this Saturday at 7 p.m. in McKale.

After the NCAA tournament selection show, I got to hang out with all the fans at Trident Grill. It was so nice meeting everyone and seeing them in the merch. Everyone was so sweet and it was nice to have time to actually talk to everyone. Usually after games it gets a little crazy, but I was able to say hi to everyone. The support has been unreal from everyone and hopefully we can make a run in the tournament and bring home a championship!
