Pima athletes set national qualifying marks at the ACCAC Conference Championships

Saturday, April 3: Central Arizona College

Former Palo Verde standout Tristan Spalding earned a national qualifying time in the 400 meters after he took fourth place with a personal-best time of 48.16 seconds.

Former Canyon del Oro standout Orion Barger already earned a national qualifying time but he improved his standing in the 400 meter race with a new personal-record of 47.43.

Sophomore Donovan Henderson (Washington) earned an NJCAA Outdoor national qualifying mark in the Triple Jump after taking second place. (14.79 meters).

Sophomore Victoria Malaki (Dobson High School) earned an NJCAA Outdoor national qualifier as she placed second in the Discus with a personal-best mark of 41.98 meters on her third attempt.

CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Sophomore Marissa Lopez (Sahuarita) took home the ACCAC Conference crown in the 800 meter race as she finished with a time of 2:26.90.

Sophomore Abigail Walls claimed the ACCAC Conference Championship in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.95 seconds.

PIMA RECORD SET

Freshman Jaida Olson (Pusch Ridge) broke the Pima record in the Pole Vault for the second time in three outdoor meets this season as she took first place with a mark of 3.80 meters (12-5.50) on her second attempt.
