Dillan Baker to play basketball for Pima

Southern Arizona Player of the Year Dillan Baker committed to play for Pima on Thursday. Baker (6-6) helped lead the Lancers to a 26-3 record and a top seed in the AIA playoffs.

Salpointe took runner-up in the 4A Conference with Baker averaging 14.6 points a game and 5.6 rebounds on the year.

NOTE: Baker’s mother, Marcie Aguilar, was part of Mike Candrea’s first National Championship team of 1991 at the University of Arizona.

Named one of “Arizona’s Heart & Sol” by KOLD and Casino del Sol, Andy Morales was recognized by the AIA as the top high school reporter in 2014, he was awarded the Ray McNally Award in 2017 and a 2019 AZ Education News recognition. Andy was named an Honorary Flowing Wells Caballero in 2019, became a member of the Sunnyside Los Mezquites Cross Country Hall of Fame in 2021 and he was a member of the Amphi COVID-19 Blue Ribbon Committee.
