Salpointe first-year coach Tricia Sztan and assistant coach Alma Mejia-Garcia and the 2022 Lancers celebrated the program’s fourth straight championship Wednesday night at Frog & Firkin.
AllSportsTucson.com was there to interview Sztan, Mejia-Garcia and all of the Lancers, including junior stadout pitcher and slugger Gianna Mares and Arizona-bound shortstop Logan Cole.

Salpointe finished 32-2, winning its last 18 games of the season, to claim the championship. The Lancers withstood a late rally by CDO to beat the Dorados 10-7 in the 4A state championship game at Arizona’s Hillenbrand Stadium on May 16.
