Marana is the only Southern Arizona 5A team to make the 16-team state bracket that was revealed Saturday morning.
The 9-1 Tigers, seeded No. 8, will host No. 9 Sunnyslope (6-4) on Friday with the winner potentially facing No. 1 Notre Dame Prep (9-1) on the road in the quarterfinal round.
5A teams from Southern Arizona teams that just missed the 16-team state playoff field (No. 8 Marana is the only one to make it):
19 Desert View (6-3)
20 Cienega (5-5) 5A Southern champ
23 Sunnyside (7-3)

Marana, in the second season under coach Phillip Steward, is the 5A Sonoran champ. Second-place finisher Sunnyside (7-3) did not make the playoff field.
The 5A Southern champion — Cienega — is not in the bracket after finishing 5-5 overall. Desert View (6-3) also is not in the playoffs after finishing behind the Bobcats.
