Bisbee boys and girls sweep the Boyd Baker Championships

The Bisbee girls beat Duncan 54-45 to capture the championship of the Boyd Baker Tournament held Wednesday at Amphitheater High School. Yanitza Romero scored 20 points to lead the Pumas, Gabby Lopez scored 19 and Monae Barry added 8.

Lopez scored 1,000 career points earlier in the day during bracket play.

Bisbee (3-1) will play at St. Augustine (2-2) on Thursday, Dec. 1 and Duncan (2-5) will host Baboquivari (3-2) on Tuesday.

The Bisbee boys beat St. Augustine 66-25 to win the Boyd Baker championship Wednesday night.

Bisbee (5-0) will play at the Gregory School (0-1) on Wednesday, Nov. 30 and St. Augustine (3-2) will host Santa Rita on Tuesday.

Andy was named an Honorary Flowing Wells Caballero in 2019, became a member of the Sunnyside Los Mezquites Cross Country Hall of Fame in 2021 and he was a member of the Amphi COVID-19 Blue Ribbon Committee.
