IZZY’S POV: New NIL Opportunity and Photoshoot Lifestyle

Hi Wildcat Fans!

It has been about a year and a half since NIL was passed in the NCAA. It has had a huge impact on many players in college athletics. At UArizona, we each have been trying to navigate it on our own. This has been a pretty complicated and long process trying to figure out all of the ins and outs. Arizona Edge was the start for us who were interested in getting involved with our NIL. There have been many opportunities for well-known athletes on our football and basketball teams. This week our softball and women’s basketball team were introduced to an NIL opportunity that may be a game changer for us.

Market Pryce is an athlete influencer marketing platform that makes closing marketing deals effortless for athletes and brands. We had a meeting with their team and they walked us through every step. They also surprised us with a team deal with G.O.A.T. Fuel, which is an energy drink owned by Jerry Rice. We received cases of G.O.A.T. Fuel and we will each get paid by promoting their drink on Instagram. This is a great opportunity for us and we are so excited to be working with them. In their app, we have access to brands across the country that want to work with student athletes. The opportunities are endless and this opens the door for Wildcat student athletes to build their brand.

Every year, we have a couple days set aside for media days. This is when we get in our uniforms, hair done, make-up on and smile big in front of the cameras. This is a fun time for all of us and this year our first media day was a little different. For the first time we did a lifestyle photoshoot! We were able to wear whatever we wanted to express ourselves outside of the uniform. I wore biker shorts, a Nike shirt and Nike Dunks. We had girls in cowboy hats and boots, some were in jeans, others wore sweatpants, and
overall, we all were able to show who we are off the field. It was so much fun and our media team is the best.

We are getting closer and closer to the start of the season! Practice has been going well. We have a couple more weeks to fine tune our game and then we will be competing against other teams. Thank you all for following along with me!
