Sabino stays in the hunt in the 3A South with an 11-1 win over Thatcher

Sabino improved to 5-4 in power-ranking games after the Sabercats defeated Thatcher 11-1 in five innings on Monday. The loss moved the Eagles to 4-6 in ranking games. The initial set of AIA power rankings are slated to be released on Tuesday at noon with only regular season contests taken into account.

Sabino and Thatcher compete in the 3A South Region and the top two teams from each of the six 3A regions will automatically qualify for the conference play-in tournament at the very least. The play-in tournament is scheduled for Wednesday, April 26….
