Mica Mountain. (Andy Morales/AllSportsTucson)

Mica Mountain took fourth place at the Division III state golf tournament held at the Omni Tucson National on Monday and Tuesday and Pusch Ridge came in sixth. Mica Mountain won Section III under head coach Matt Johnson and Pusch Ridge won Section VII under head coach Klaus Axen.

Mica Mountain came into the state tournament ranked No. 8 and Pusch Ridge was ranked No. 11 so both teams improved dramatically at state. Mica Mountain will switch to the D-II level this coming fall.

The various AIA state golf tournaments will now be played at the Aguila Golf Course in Laveen after spending the last six years at the Omni.
