Ethan Stevenson nets four as FC Tucson improves to 3-0-1

Ethan Stevenson scored 19 goals in 13 matches for Brazos Valley Cavalry FC (TX) last year and the USL League Two (USL2) rewarded the South Carolina native with the “Golden Boot” for his efforts. Stevenson’s scoring ways continued at the Kino North Stadium on Saturday with the forward hitting the net four times to help lead FC Tucson past Olympians FC 5-1.

The victory moved FC Tucson to 3-0-1 on the year and the team from El Mirage in the Phoenix area fell to 6-3 after starting out 4-0. Olympians FC will play FC Arizona next on Sunday, May 28 at Gilbert Campo Verde High School at 6 p.m. and FC Tucson will play a USL2 match next at Arizona Arsenal Wednesday night, May 24, at 8 p.m. at Bell Bank Park in Mesa.

Stevenson set a program record in the friendly on Saturday with his four goals. He scored in the sixth minute and the ninth to open up the scoring. He took an offering Duvan Canchila in the 19th and he flicked a shot over the keeper in the 28th for the franchise record. Six players have previously recorded hat tricks for FC Tucson. Gyorgy Kamaras scored in stoppage time for the fifth goal.

FC Tucson will return home on Saturday, June 3, to take on Capo FC (USL2) at 7:30 p.m.
