Tyler Fallwell (Cochise)

Former Palo Verde standout pitcher Tyler Fallwell signed with the Kansas City Royals yesterday and reported to the team’s facility in Surprise according to his father Jason Fallwell. Tyler was also named to the NJCAA Division I All-American team for his efforts with Cochise. He was the only player from Arizona chosen.

His mother Jaime Fallwell sent along a note to her son:

“Today one chapter ended and a new one began. Up until today your job has been to work hard in the classroom, in life and on the baseball field. Today, you drove off to your first job as a professional baseball player!! Not too shabby. All your hard work has led you to your dream. Dad and I are so happy for you and proud of you for never giving up. We love you Tyler! You have far exceeded our hopes and dreams for you as our son. May this chapter in life be everything you dreamed it would be”

This list will be updated all year in an effort to recognize all former local prep stars who have gone on to achieve either academic and/or athletic awards at the next level. These are not high school awards but college and professional awards. NOT CHAMPIONSHIPS. If you are aware of anything I have missed along the way, please let me know. amoralesmytucson@yahoo.com
