Since 2002 Brenda Frese has been the head coach on the Maryland Terrapins, building the program into one of the nation’s top women’s basketball teams.
Before turning Maryland into an elite program, Frese started her basketball career playing at the University of Arizona, playing under coach June Olkowski and coach Joan Bonvicini.
I talked to Frese about how she has turned Maryland into one of women’s basketball’s best programs and discussed what similarities she sees in the way she built the Terrapins program, and the way coach Adia Barnes has rebuilt Arizona:
