This weekend was supposed to start a four-game series against Cal for No. 9 Arizona beginning on Friday night. However, with COVID-19 issues within the Golden Bears program, the first two games of the series have been canceled, according to Arizona athletics.
Now, the two teams will play on Saturday at 6 p.m. and then on Sunday at noon to end the weekend for a short two-game series before Arizona’s road trip to Oregon.
Cal had been dealing with COVID-19 issues within its program over the last several weeks and hadn’t played a game since April 11, when problems started to arise. The Golden Bears had already canceled their game against Santa Clara that was suppose to be played today.
This makes a total of eight games canceled for Arizona. However, it is the first two games canceled due to COVID-19 issues with the others caused by weather.
