Samuel Morrison, the son of former Arizona Wildcats defensive back Darryl Morrison, was offered a scholarship by Rich Rodriguez and his staff today during an unofficial visit.
Morrison will be a senior cornerback at Gonzaga High School in Washington, D.C., where his father Darryl resides after playing with the Washington Redskins. Morrison, a safety with Arizona’s Desert Swarm defense in 1992 and 1993, announced on his Facebook page today his son’s scholarship offer from his alma mater.
The elder Morrison’s post: “I’m extremely excited and humbled to share my son Samuel received a scholarship offer to play football at his parent’s alma mater The University of Arizona. Such an amazing experience as a parent to know your child has the opportunity to do what you did at the same school. So thankful!!!! #BearDown”

The younger Morrison told Scout.com on May 22 that he may commit to Arizona if the Wildcats offer a scholarship.
“I would definitely think about it [committing on the spot] because it is an offer I have always wanted, but with the offers I have now I think that every single school has something I definitely need to consider,” Morrison told Scout.com. “I think right off the bat I would want to sit down with my family, coaches and friends, and see what is right for me, but at this point I am kind of taking it slow.”
Darryl Morrison’s oldest daughter Faith is in her freshman year at Washington, where she competes in gymnastics.
