THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 12

2A Morenci (1-1) at 2A Willcox (1-1)
Morenci holds a slim 24-22-2 lead over Willcox dating back to 1965 including eight wins in a row since 2010. The Cowboys are coached by Alonzo Highsmith Jr.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 13

6A Tucson (2-1) at 6A North (0-3) Metro Region Game
Tucson holds a 19-10 record over North dating back to 1941. The Badgers won 50-0 last year in the first meeting for the school since 1994. 1957 was the last time North beat Tucson. The Badgers can go 3-0 in the Metro Region. No room for error in the 6A playoff race.

5A Buena (1-1) at 5A Empire (1-1)
Buena beat Empire 51-28 in the first meeting between the two schools last year. This is a mini playoff game for both squads because 1-2 will be difficult to overcome in power rankings.

5A Centennial (1-1) at 5A Cienega (1-1)
Centennial is 3-0 against Cienega since 2016 by an average score of 49-9.

5A Campo Verde (3-0) at 5A Ironwood Ridge (1-1)
Campo Verde beat Ironwood Ridge 17-13 last year in the first meeting between the two programs. The Nighthawks follow this difficult game up with a trip to Centennial on Sept. 20.

5A Casteel (2-1) at 5A Mountain View (0-2)
Casteel beat Mountain View 56-0 last year in the first game between the two teams.

5A Desert View (1-1) at 5A Marana (0-3)
Marana is 11-7 against Desert View dating back to 1985. The Tigers have won the last four in a row. Marana hasn’t started out 0-4 since 2012.

4A Rio Rico (2-1) at 5A Nogales (2-0)
Nogales is 11-0 against Rio Rico since 1997 including a 45-0 win last year.

5A Cholla (1-2) at 4A Pueblo (2-0)
Pueblo holds a 28-15 record over Cholla dating back to 1972. Pueblo has won the last four in a row. The Warriors can go 3-0 for the first time since 2017.

4A Amphitheater (2-1) at 5A Flowing Wells (0-3)
Amphitheater holds a very slim 13-12-1 record over the Caballeros of Flowing Wells dating back to a 7-7 tie in 1961.

3A Tanque Verde (0-2) at 5A Rincon/UHS (1-1)
Tanque Verde beat Rincon/UHS 21-7 in the first meeting between the two programs.

4A Marcos de Niza (1-1) at 4A Sahuaro (3-0)
Sahuaro beat Marcos de Niza 42-13 in the first meeting between the two programs last year. The Cougars are looking to go 4-0 since the 9-0 season start in 2014.

4A Walden Grove (2-0) at 4A Casa Grande (1-2)
Walden Grove beat Casa Grande 28-26 in the first meeting between the two schools last year. The Red Wolves have never started out 2-0 much less 3-0. Walden Grove has not allowed a point yet and Cam Gaddis and Alex Rios from the Sugar Skulls are defensive assistants.

4A Douglas (1-2) at 3A Catalina (0-2)
Douglas holds a 19-17 lead on Catalina dating back to 1963.

3A Pusch Ridge (1-1) at 4A Canyon del Oro (3-0)
Canyon del Oro beat Pusch Ridge 33-7 last year. 2010 was the last time the Dorados started out 4-0.

3A Sabino (1-1) at 4A Catalina Foothills (1-2)
Sabino is 9-3 against Catalina Foothills dating back to 1995 including the last three since 2010 when the Falcons beat the Sabercats twice in one year.

3A Sahuarita (1-1) at 3A Coolidge (3-0)
Coolidge is 24-2 against Sahuarita dating back to 1980. 1996 was the last time Sahuarita won.

2A Santa Cruz (2-1) at 3A Kingman (2-0)
This will be the first game between the two schools. Kingman started playing in 1952 and Santa Cruz in 1965.

2A Benson (2-0) at 2A Santa Rita (1-1) Region Game
Benson beat Santa Rita 54-0 last year in the first meeting between the two schools. The Bobcats can go 3-0 for the first time since the 13-0 start by the 2015 team.

2A Miami (2-0) at 2A Bisbee (2-0)
Miami is 14-6 against Bisbee since 1969 but Bisbee beat Miami 38-8 last year in the first game between the two since 1996.

2A Tombstone (1-1) at 2A Antelope (1-1)
Antelope is 7-4 against Tombstone since 1965. Tombstone won 68-38 last year.

1A Hayden (2-0) at 1A Baboquivari (2-1)
Hayden is 9-2 over Baboquivari dating back to 1970.

1A St. David (1-1) at 1A Anthem Prep (1-2)
Anthem Prep beat St. David 60-25 last year.

1A Mogollon (2-1) at 1A Valley Union (1-2)
Mogollon is 5-2 against Valley Union since 1996 including a 50-12 win last year.
