“If I’m having a bad day, I might hear her say, ‘Don’t worry, Kev, tomorrow is going to be better.’ It’s always helpful to hear her voice from time to time, especially when things are not going the way I want. I wear it every day to remind myself . . . I see strength on my wrist, and I continue to try to grow. The bad day I had, I try to make the next day better.” — Arizona senior forward Kevin Parrom, as quoted by Jack Magruder of FoxSportsArizona.com, about his mother who passed away almost a year ago (Oct. 16, 2011) after her battle with breast cancer.
Magruder, a former Arizona Daily Star reporter and columnist, writes that Parrom wears a purple bracelet on his left wrist that his mother, Lisa Williams, wore. On it is a single word: Strength. He wears it every day.
