The Southern Arizona Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame will hold a public reception and luncheon Fri., Oct. 18 for University of Arizona great Tedy Bruschi.
As part of his induction into the NFF College Hall of Fame later this year, Bruschi, an ESPN studio analyst for NFL broadcasts, will be feted with an “On Campus Salute” the following day during the Utah-Arizona football game in Arizona Stadium.
Bruschi was a unanimous All-America defensive end at UA during its ‘Desert Swarm’ years in the early 1990s. His school-record 55 sacks is tied for the NCAA career record. He later became a Pro Bowl pick and three-time Super Bowl champion during his 13-year career with the New England Patriots.
The Oct. 18 gathering will be held at the Doubletree Hotel, 445 S. Alvernon Way, with an 11 a.m. to noon no-host reception, and a noon to 1:30 p.m. lunch and program.
