Nick Foles is the 1st Eagles QB not named Michael Vick with at least 3 Pass TD & 1 Rush TD in a game since Donovan McNabb in 2003 (at WSH).

Nick Foles continues to make things difficult for Eagles coach Chip Kelly, who is non-committal to making the former Arizona Wildcats quarterback the permanent starter in place of the injured Michael Vick.
“I thought Nick played really well,” Kelly said in the postgame press conference. “But I don’t deal in hypotheticals or make predictions. We’ll see how Mike is (health-wise) and go from there. We’ll evaluate everything.”
Foles completed 22 of 31 passes for 296 yards and no interceptions and three touchdowns, two of them beautiful long strikes to DeSean Jackson and Riley Cooper, in the Eagles’ 31-20 win at Tampa Bay.
Foles would be a shoo-in for the Pro Football Hall of Fame if he only played Tampa Bay in his career. Two of his seven career NFL starts are against the Buccaneers (including last year). In the two games, Foles has accounted for 677 yards, seven touchdowns — five passing and two rushing — and no interceptions.

Quick hits
— Former UA tight end Rob Gronkowski’s prolonged absence is reportedly causing tension in the New England locker room, according to ESPN. My opinion: Don’t some of his teammates know he was rushed into playing before and it made his injury situation worse? Gronk wants to play and he should wait until he is 100 percent.
— Juron Criner has yet to be activated for any of Oakland’s game this year not because the Raiders don’t believe in him; they just don’t see him as one of their top four receivers as of now, according to the San Jose Mercury News.
— Veteran Lance Briggs must be counted on more than ever for the injury-depleted Bears defense, according to the Chicago Tribune.
— Briggs’ teammate Eben Britton, formerly of Arizona, is an extra offensive lineman who was used on 24 plays against the New York Giants last Thursday,
— Antoine Cason is adapting to his new role as a special teams and nickel back player with the Arizona Cardinals.
— Earl Mitchell and Fendi Onobun were part of Texas high school programs that have sent multiple players to the NFL ranks.
— Nick Folk made two more field goals yesterday for the New York Jets to improve to 13-for-13 on the season.
This site will periodically run statistic updates on former Wildcats who are active in the NFL throughout the season. The stats below are through Sunday’s games.
