Former Arizona Wildcats post player Jordan Hill’s play was inspirational for the Los Angeles Lakers in their resounding win over the Los Angeles Clippers, but that did not come close to what he meant to a few spectators at Staples Center Tuesday night.
Hill purchased 20 tickets for the Lakers’ season opener — not an easy ticket to come by — for a group of breast cancer survivors. He met personally with them after the game, won by the Lakers 116-113 behind Hill’s 12 points and eight rebounds off the bench.

Solomon Hill made his NBA debut Tuesday night in Indiana’s 97-87 win over Orlando. He played eight minutes and managed one rebound. His playing time figures to increase tonight at New Orleans because Danny Granger is out at least three weeks with a calf injury.
Kevin Parrom has left his team in Ukraine. No details were given. Parrom played in only one game for Cherkasy and he had two rebounds and two steals. Parrom is one of the good guys. I wish him well on his next pursuit.
Business is business … Back to the drawing board
