New Arizona Wildcats video a spin off of X-Men: “Please, we need you to hope again”

The Arizona Wildcats video production crew named the “#DigitalGurus” is at it again, making a video that produces goosebumps and makes you want to put on the football helmet and pads.

Arizona Wildcats athletic director Greg Byrne and the football team would rather you just show up at Arizona Stadium for Saturday’s pivotal game against UCLA. Hence, the hashtag #BeThere.

The latest video (above) is titled: “A-Men Days of Future Glory”. It is a takeoff on the recently released trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past, using dramatic voice-overs from the trailer of that movie.

“Our video production has really evolved the last couple years with the emphasis from Greg Byrne, Sean Miller and now Rich Rodriguez wanting to brand and position the U of A as cutting edge and get our message out to recruits and fans as much as possible,” Arizona video production director John Daley II communicated to me today.

“Our programs have so many unique and positive messages that its been a natural to incorporate video to try to tell those stories in a way that gets recruits and the fan base energized. Without the access or support from Greg and the coaches none of these things would have ever been possible. It’s really taken on a life of its own now.”

Daley and his crew are responsible for many memorable videos, including all of those “This is Arizona” basketball films shown before the Wildcats’ starting lineup is announced. They include former Arizona greats mentioning how many Sweet Sixteen, Elight Eight and Final Fours the Wildcats have played.

Lute Olson caps the videos by saying “One … national championship” followed by Sean Miller saying “This is … Arizona.”

Goosebumps were never so intense.

“The #DigitialGurus are so talented and have really allowed us to make our productions as good as any major production company in the country,” Daley said. “(Staff members) Carlos Moreno, Ryan Bloom and Mike Hausler are our full time video staff who work endless hours and do a great job.”

And who will forget those Hard Edge videos with Rodriguez, staff and players wearing Old West garb? Another funny video was Rodriguez accidentally walking in on Wilbur the Wildcat while Wilbur took a shower in his office. Have you seen that?
