Tucson City Manager Richard Miranda, Ward 5 Council Member Richard Fimbres and the Tucson Parks and Recreation Department held the unveiling of the 2013 Sunnyside Little League Softball World Series championship signage at Mission Manor Park last Saturday morning during opening ceremonies.

Three signs will be placed on the fields located at the park located on South 12th Avenue in honor of two World Series Championships won by the league:

“Home of Little League World Series Champions”
“2013 Sunnyside Softball Majors ALL STARS”
“1992 Sunnyside Baseball Juniors ALL STARS”.

Almost 1,000 players and fans helped celebrate the event that coincided with opening ceremonies. Members of the softball championship team lined up to give “high five’s” to a procession of little league players from tee-ball to majors representing the Sunnyside Little League.
