Lute Olson was on hand for Steve Kerr’s introductory press conference yesterday. So was Kerr’s entire family. A special day.
No surprise Kerr is genuinely enjoying his first few days as head coach of the Golden State Warriors. Classy as usual, Kerr stops to take photographs.

Good video production by the Warriors focusing on Kerr’s arrival as head coach. Olson was interviewed during the video. He said he did not see Kerr as a college coach because “he was too smart for that” as far as dealing with all of the recruiting demands.
Olson’s presence at Kerr’s press conference shows how much his former coach views him as a son and how Kerr looks up to Olson as a father.

Lute Olson had said Steve Kerr told him it wouldn't be a press conference if he and his wife didn't come.

Tom Tolbert will see a lot of his former teammate because he is a broadcaster with KNBR in the San Francisco area. He naturally attended yesterday’s press conference (here hugging Olson).

Kerr, Tolbert once went to Halloween party w/ beer 12-packs on heads. Kerr: "We were each a 12-pack but together..Tolbert: "we were a case."

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich as quoted in the following link: “(Kerr’s) quite an intelligent young man. He’s been around, he’s seen a lot, he’s seen enough to know what he wants to do and what he doesn’t want to do. He’s great with interpersonal relationships. He’s a hard worker. He’s obviously a close friend, but I think on a professional level, he’ll dive in and do everything he can, beginning with forming a staff and trying to do everything the right way. I’m excited for him.”

And just when you thought a former Arizona player would not coach the New York Knicks …
The next Knicks coach? @AminESPN makes the case for former Laker Luke Walton.
