Former Arizona Wildcats guard Nick Johnson completed his 15th workout with NBA teams today at Sacramento in preparation for next Thursday’s draft.
Reporters following the Kings’ workout asked (in the video above) the general questions pertaining to Johnson playing either the point guard or shooting guard position.
Other parts of the interview session that might be of interest to Arizona Wildcats’ fans:
Sean Miller’s influence — “He was the best coach for me. He installed some confidence in me that showed this past year in a bunch of games at the base of the defense. I think that’s the biggest thing I will take from him, using my athleticism and the body that I have to help me transition into the NBA. … Just being a good kid off the court. Doing the right things. Not getting in trouble. Not picking fights and stuff like that. I think that’s one of the things a team can trust about me.”

On his intangibles — “I think I was born a leader. Whatever situation I’m put in, I’m going to lead. It always doesn’t have to be as a vocal leader. As a rookie coming in, come in do the right things, get your shots up, show the guys you’ll play hard and going to work. Slowly but surely, you’ll start gaining that respect.”

On communicating with former teammate Aaron Gordon — “I spoke to Aaron probably four or five days ago. He was getting done with all of his five workouts. So he had the easy life. He asked me about how many workouts I’ve had. I think I was at 12 then. He was like, ‘Man, you’ve been going.’ He’s doing good. I have the utmost confidence in him going into this year. He does everything. … I know whoever gets him will get a good player for years to come.”
On Sacramento forward Derrick Williams, a former Arizona Wildcats standout — “Derrick was at every one of my recruiting visits. He left the year I came in. They just came off the Elite Eight. DWill was cool. He started the whole Sean Miller era off right. I kind of took it from there. … Definitely, I will talk to him. … Anything he can advise me to do or not to do stuff like that, because he’s been in the league a few years now, I will talk to him.”
