The Arizona media relations department keeps tab of different statistics, even how many times Kaleb Tarczewski wins the opening tip.

Tarczewski has won 25 of the 33 tips, by the way. Matt Korcheck won his only try on Senior Day.

One of the more interesting statistical categories is “Freshmen under Miller”, which offers an indication of who has stood out the most among Sean Miller’s decorated recruiting classes.

Stanley Johnson, the accomplished wing player from Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei, is only seven points shy of Derrick Williams’ leading mark of 486 points as a freshman under Miller.

In the history of Arizona basketball, no freshman has ranked in the top five of his class in rebounds and steals other than Johnson. He is 13 points shy of making that be the case in scoring.
