Former Sahuaro standout Alex Verdugo hit for the cycle tonight playing for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes (A Adv) in the Los Angeles Dodgers system.

MLB.com named Verdugo the No. 7 prospect in the Dodgers organization.

The Quakes visited the Lancaster Jethawks tonight and Verdugo got the start in centerfield. He picked up a solo shot in the top of the second, a single in the third, a double in the seventh and a three-run triple in the eighth to complete the cycle.

His home run was his second with the club. His triple put the Quakes up 8-1.

Verdugo was drafted in the second round in 2014 by the Dodgers and the club promoted Verdugo from the Great Lakes Loons to the Quakes on August 14.
