[tps_title]Ranked Arizona team vs. unranked non-conference teams on road[/tps_title]
The 22nd-ranked Wildcats find themselves in this situation Saturday traveling to Reno, Nev., to face unranked Nevada.
The Wolfpack, coming off an uninspiring 31-17 win over Cal-Davis at home last Thursday, will be the 11th non-conference opponent to face a ranked Arizona team in the regular season.
Arizona is 7-2 in this scenario when it is ranked and the opponent is not. In the only game in which the opponent was ranked was the 41-7 loss to No. 3 Penn State in College Station, Pa., when Arizona was No. 4 in the 1999 opener.
The Wildcats traveled to play TCU the week after playing Penn State, as the No. 15-ranked team, and won 35-31. They fell to No. 19 in the rankings because not much was expected of the Horned Frogs, who eventually finished 8-4.
That was the last time Arizona went on the road as a ranked team against a non-conference opponent, some 16 years ago. That stretch will end Saturday.
