A versatile player Sean Miller will count on this year is former San Francisco player Mark Tollefsen, who is rated the No. 17 pro prospect among Pac-12 players by DraftExpress.com.

Allonzo Trier is ranked No. 5, followed by Dusan Ristic at No. 12 and then Kaleb Tarczewski at No. 12.

Interesting to note that Tollefsen is rated higher than former Boston College forward Ryan Anderson, who will likely be Arizona’s starter at power forward. Anderson is not ranked among the top 20 prospects in the Pac-12, which seems odd when others like Stanford’s Rosco Allen and Washington State’s Josh Hawkinson are listed.

Of Tollefsen, DraftExpress.com’s Jonathon Givony writes, “Tollefsen played in a very unselfish manner that bodes well for his transition to being a role player at Arizona and beyond. Posting a positive assist to turnover, and showing a high basketball IQ as indicated by his excellent shooting percentages, Tollefsen frequently made the extra pass along the perimeter or inside the post.”

Givony notes that Tollefsen’s wiry frame (6’9″ and 199 pounds) concerns scouts the most especially if he is playing at the power forward position.

“Tollefsen’s body type indicates he’s likely best suited guarding small forwards or face-up power forwards, something he’ll likely be asked to do quite a bit of at Arizona this upcoming season, so it will be interesting to see how he fares in that role,” Givony writes.
