Really wanna see how crazy these Arizona fans are this weekend😈
— Mitch Lightfoot (@Mitchlightfoot) October 8, 2015
Class of 2016 touted recruiting prospect Mitch Lightfoot has come full circle.
The Gilbert Christian forward, who grew up in Tucson, took an official visit to Arizona campus this weekend. He recently took an unofficial visit when Arizona’s football team played UCLA. His official visits are now complete.
Lightfoot’s also toured the campuses of Stanford, Utah, Kansas and St. John’s. It’s interesting to note that ASU did not get an official visit, but Lightfoot has also unofficially visited the Tempe campus.
Lightfoot told me in July that he wanted to take all of his official visits before making a decision so he could get the most out of the recruiting process. Can’t blame him. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

When asked if it is surreal now being recruited by Arizona after following the program as a youngster, Lightfoot said: “I’d like to say no, but it is surreal as all hell. It’s super rewarding and I’m going to try to make a difference if I go there.”
He visited New York with his family when he went to St. John’s. His extended family lives near Kansas, so he was able to see them as well when touring the Jayhawks’ facilities.
Kansas coach Bill Self is intent on trying to take Lightfoot from Arizona’s grasp with the senior being an in-state recruit.
Arizona is also scheduled to host center Lauri Markkanen of Finland for its Red-Blue Game and No. 1 target Josh Jackson has indicated he will schedule a visit to Arizona’s campus this month.
