LATE NIGHT WITH RICH RODRIGUEZ
The Arizona at Washington game Saturday night on Fox Sports 1 is the last college football game of the day, following even a game at Hawaii.
The Rainbow Warriors host Air Force at 7:30 p.m., Tucson time or 4:30 in Honolulu.
To be fair, Notre Dame and Temple kick off at 8 p.m. Eastern, the same time but in a different region as Arizona vs. Washington.
Rodriguez lambasted the Pac-12 a couple of weeks ago for allowing these late-night games to take place on the road for a team that has no weeks off, such as his. The value of Rodriguez going off during his weekly conference is to voice his displeasure directly to Scott and Pac-12 bigwigs via a public forum.
Scott’s answer: My hands are tied.
ESPN and Fox Sports pay the conference millions to have their say when they will televise Pac-12 games. It so happens Fox Sports wants to televise Arizona at Washington in the 8 p.m. window, like it or not.
Along with Rodriguez, many fans on both sides do not care for the late start, especially on Halloween night when festivities are planned.

Washington coach Chris Petersen told reporters after practice Thursday the hardest part of late-night games is waiting all day.
“That might be the most painful thing in the whole thing,” he said. “It’s just so much dead time. And so we get them up and you have a walkthrough and you come back and eat, you have another little walkthrough and you’re just buying time, trying to not stay in the hotel.”
